Revolutions 2.4 Boston Tea party

 Rating 8/10

Transcription/Video: (1) Mike Duncan's Revolutions - 2.4 - The Boston Tea Party - YouTube

Interesting Information: He gave information about who owned the ship of the Boston Tea-Party and gave some background information about how the boat even came to have said cargo aboard it. A little story how they were only there to dump the tea and how a padlock was broken and the next day he received one to replace it
Two Concepts: The disconnect between the mainland colonies and UK government the deterioration of the relationship. Also, how UK completely underestimated how much their tariffs among the citizens of the colonies had angered them How loyalist and revolutionaries saw the implementation of the new tariffs.

Teaching Application I:  The Podcast gives students an understanding How Americans from both side of the argument and how the differ from the loyalist and those who were seeking independence from the British Empire

Teaching Application II:  The Podcast shows What had happened when Ben Franklin went to talk with UK leadership belittling him in hope to take away his credibility and power. How the British Empire saw how they need to crush this developing momentum for independence.

Teaching Application III: The Podcast shows the listener how the British government had underestimated the colonies distain for bills that passed in parliament. How they completely overestimated their support among the fabrication.

Pro: It frees up time to do other things in class instead of having lecture I feel like it easier to ask a student to listen to a podcast instead of having to read a textbook. It provides a different voice perhaps a new perspective that they have never heard before.

Anti: I feel like Podcast can get off topic and having non sequitur. Things that don't really matter to subject matter. Or things that are so niche that it sort of pointless.
